About

Hello! I’m Christine.
I chase open spaces.
Yes, I literally chase open spaces as though they’ll run away from me. Because, who knows? They may. They’ve gotten away from me before, especially due to the busyness of motherhood.
To give you some background, my family and I currently live smack-dab in the middle of a city. I, however, grew up above miles of canyons that my siblings and I explored throughout childhood. As a college student, friends and I spent summers road tripping and camping. As a young adult, I danced professionally and satisfied my love of space by traveling through wide open studio floor and theater stage.
Today, with children in tow, I continue to chase space – to get out of the city, our small (though comfortable) home, and my busy head. However, the chasing has slowed down to a wayfarer’s pace. Since my young children are happy to join in these adventures, I try to make them as child-friendly as possible. We travel to the space and take our time when we get there – camping, hiking, crafting, exploring, swimming, biking, rock scrambling, stargazing, hammock-ing, and learning a thing or two as we go.
I keep this blog for the busy parents and caretakers who need adventurous ideas with kids in nature. Although, really, I hope any fellow traveler will find useful information here. Happy wayfaring!
